In the overseas market, Marubeni is working towards expanding its business in many countries, including participating in the management of Acecook Vietnam. Marubeni has about a 30% import share of the entire coffee bean industry. For instant coffee, Marubeni has established a sales system not only for Japan but also global markets including Europe, the U.S. and Asia, with Marubeni's subsidiary Iguaçu de Café Solúvel (Brazil), one of the largest manufacturer/dealers of instant coffee materials in the world, as the production base.

Development of manufacturing and sales operations of safe and secure livestock products

In the poultry industry, we have developed the broiler business with strict product management, providing safe and secure chicken meat to mass retailers, restaurants, and livestock product managers. We use this business know-how and experience to operate a similar business in China, where we focus not only on domestic sales in Japan, but in China as well. In 2017, we entered the American beef production and sales industry by acquiring an American high quality beef processing company. By maintaining supply bases in the U.S. and Australia, two major producing countries, we are building an organization that can respond to the ever-growing demand for high quality beef worldwide.

The marine products business shows strong sales networks in the large consumer markets of Japan and the U.S. as well as a high level of aptitude in the procurement of natural marine resources

Marubeni procures marine products from production and processing sites around the world according to the needs of consumers, and sells the products in Japan and the U.S. the two major consumer markets through the industry's top-class sales companies. Marubeni has a strong presence in the industry, with a 10% handling share of wild red salmon globally and a U.S. sales company having approximately 6% share of the shrimp wholesale market in the U.S., the third largest in the country.
